Ginine M Hanco
Marital & Family Lawyer
Originally from New Jersey, Ginine pursued her college education in Florida, receiving an associate degree with high honors from Seminole Community College, and went on to graduate magna cum laude from Rollins College with a B.A. in English and a minor in Creative Writing.
Although she had always expected to be an English teacher, Ginine went on to law school, earning her Juris Doctor in 2004 from the Fredric G. Levin College of Law, University of Florida. While in school she earned a Certificate of Family Law; participated in two clinics (civil Pro Se Clinic and Child Welfare Clinic); in the College of Law Ambassador Program, as both an ambassador and a coordinator (a mentoring program for new students); and served as extern for the Honorable Raymond T. McNeal, 5th Circuit, Ocala, family law Judge, (an experience that invoked in her a strong desire to work in family law). She became a member of the Florida Bar in 2006.
Ginine and her family moved to Lee County where she worked with a family law firm, handling divorce, child support and custody, and equitable distribution cases. She joined the Thompson Family Law team in late 2007.
One of the interesting things about Ginine is that she accomplished much of her education while also being a wife to Luis, and mom to son, Daniel, and daughter, Alex, both of whom are now teenagers. The family is busy in school activities, has a collection of pets – two dogs, five cats, a hamster and a snake, and Ginine continues her interest in literature by writing a fiction novel in her spare time.
