Joan Du Bois

Joan was born and raised in New York City, progressed through the private school system and attended The City College of New York. She is proud of the fact that she is a first generation American, the daughter of an Irish mother, and of course she has visited her family in Ireland a number of times.

Joan entered the travel industry and spent more than 15 years as an agent, administrator, and then as a teacher for Connecticut Academy of Travel. Relocating to Florida in 1991, Joan continued in the travel industry, working in both Naples and Fort Myers.

When her daughter was born, Joan was fortunate to be able to stay at home with her. She spent those precious early years not only raising her daughter, but also was a Nanny for two boys. She re-entered the work force when she joined the law firm of Laurence J. Smith as his Office Manager. When Larry joined Thompson Family Law in 2006, Joan came with him to become a valued member of the team.

In her free time Joan enjoys swimming, bowling, tennis, basketball, and skating and reading.  She’s an avid fan of The Patriots and the New York Mets.
